Musashi Tachikawa is Professor Emeritus at National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, Japan. His Publications include The Structure of the World of Udayana’s Realism; Introduction to the Philosophy of Nagarjuna ; Five Hundred Buddhist Deities , A Ngor Mandala Collection; Mandala Deities in the Nispannayogavali.
Kathryn W. Sparling is the Tanaka Memorial Professor of International understanding and Japanese, emerita, at Carleton College in Minnesota USA, where she taught Japanese Language and literature. All told, she has spent about fifteen years in Japan. She is “Dear Kathryn.”
