A map is a graphical representation of space and a powerful visual tool used by various people to communicate about land. In this book, the Tibet Museum has included several maps, some of which I selected, that were displayed at the temporary exhibition “Mapping Tibet” held at the museum in August 2023. The maps published in this book will help readers understand and appreciate how Tibet has been depicted by different cartographers over time.
