They describe how they, and the community were ultimately affected by distant forces — warming relations between Nepal and China, shifting CIA support for Tibetan resistance fighters, and political changes in Nepal. This is their story as they learned, laughed and shared pains and sorrows with people who would deeply affect who the authors are today.
