About the book:

Nga Rangrig, also known as Khenrab Gyatso, was born into an ordinary family in the village of Kashul, in Amdo-ngawa, Tibet. At a very young age, he entered Nangzhig Monastery where he learned reading and writing from Trizur Lungwa Tenzin who also instructed Nga Rangrig in a wide spectrum of foundational studies.

In 2006 he traveled to Nepal to enter Triten Norbutse Monastery. During his 17 years there, he received the teachings of Yungdrung Bön as well as teachings in the arts and sciences of the tradition, from the revered spiritual master His Eminence Yongzin Rinpoche and from the abbot, of Drubdra, Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche.

Nga Rangrig also received many instructions regarding what are termed the ”common and uncommon knowledges” of Tibet from the many other distinguished abbots and spiritual masters of Triten Norbutse Monastery. In 2018 he successfully completed thirteen years of the required dialectic classes and joined the meditation and practice program, the Drubdra.

In 2021 he accomplished many Bön meditation practices and received multiple certifi cations acknowledging his competency. He also participated in seminars regarding Bön and Tibetan literature where he presented many of his own articles. Several of these were published in national and international journals. During the 16th IATS Seminar in 2022, he wrote a research paper which was selected as ”Best in Category”.

In March of 2023, he will be receiving the title of Geshe from the Triten Norbutse Monastery. The Geshe degree is equivalent to a PhD in western universities. Nga Rangrig, soon to be Geshe Nga Rangrig, is also an executive editor of the Gyalshen Böndra website. In addition, he has recently assumed the responsibility of Editor of the Tibetan books for Gyalshen Publications.
